Rose Ekwe

Rose Ekwé, textile designer, was trained in design, fashion and weaving at the Duperré school in Paris, then at the Ecole supérieure des arts du Rhin in Mulhouse.Her mission is to research, design and weave tailor-made textile solutions, without having a negative impact on the environment, health or the human being. Installed in her workshop at the Ateliers de Paris where she currently resides, she nevertheless maintains a strong link with the region of Alsace where she also trained, through collaboration with laboratories.

Textile Design & Research Workshop

By collaborating with engineers and scientists, she wants to explores new sustainable manufacturing processes. She developed her own spinning and weaving technique allowing her to design, from plants, algae and minerals, compostable and patented textiles that she called Gélotextiles®. In 2019, she founded her textile design and research workshop to design Gélotextiles® on request for custom projects, as well as other surfaces woven from renewable materials derived from biomass
